Brian M. Maul

     Born on September 17, 1975, in White Plains, new York, Brian received his B.A. with Distinction from the University of Delaware in 1997. He earned his J.D. from the Washington College of Law of American University in 2000. Brian became an associate attorney for Gordon & Simmons, LLC in 2003.

     Since joining the firm, Brian has successfully represented numerous individual and corporate clients in various matters in state and federal courts at both the trial court and appellate court levels., as well as in arbitration. In November 2007, Brian obtained a $207,000 jury verdict for his client under the Maryland Consumer Protection Act against a major car dealership, Sheehy Ford of Gaithersburg, L.C. Earlier that same year, he also obtained two, separate attorney malpractice verdicts totaling over $400,000 against an attorney for that attorney’s negligent handling of the clients’ employment discrimination claims against the United States Postal Service. In the Fall of 2006, Roger and Brian worked together on behalf of multiple shareholders in order to obtain a $3.2M settlement for their clients. Recently, Brian obtained a $1,250,000 jury verdict against Wells Fargo Bank, N.A. for fraudulent and predatory home mortgage lending practices.

     He frequently represents employees who have been wrongfully discharged and/or subjected to a hostile work environment and has seen to it that his clients receive fair reasonable compensation for their injuries. Such cases include the representation of employees who have been wrongfully discriminated against due to their age, disability, race, pregnancy and gender, as well as employees who have been subjected to a hostile work environment due to their gender and/or race.

     Brian also has extensive experience in construction litigation and landlord/tenant disputes (as counsel both to landlords who have incurred damages due to a tenant breaching a lease and to tenants who have been wrongfully evicted or who have had their statutory rights infringed upon).
