Jacob I. Weddle

     Jacob I. Weddle was born and raised in Frederick County, Maryland. He earned his B.S. in Environmental Science and Policy summa cum laude from the University of Maryland at College Park. Jake earned his J.D. cum laude from The University of Baltimore School of Law. While in law school Jake was named to the Trademark Moot Court team which competed in the national competition in New York City. Additionally, while in law school, Jake achieved the highest grade in his graduating class for the second semester legal writing course.

     Jake began working at Gordon & Simmons as a law clerk, and continued as an associate after becoming licensed to practice in Maryland. Jake represents individual and corporate clients in a variety of matters in state and federal courts at both the trial court and appellate court levels. He has negotiated favorable settlements in trademark and contract cases. Jake was also defense counsel for a local restaurant in a telecommunications dispute. After a one-day trial, the Judge granted Plaintiff a judgment for less than 10% of the damages that Plaintiff sought. Unhappy with the small judgment, Plaintiff has appealed.

     Away from the office, Jake enjoys spending time with his wife and dog, Murphy. Jake is an avid sportsman; he enjoys baseball, basketball, football, golf and skiing
