Chris deBettencourt, a Bethesda, Maryland native, earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Dallas in Irving, Texas in 2007. Chris received his J.D. from the Penn State University Dickinson School of Law in 2011, where he was a senior editor on the International Law Review.
After becoming licensed to practice in Maryland in 2011, Chris worked for a small law firm in Rockville, Maryland. In June, 2012, he began a judicial clerkship for Judge Theresa Adams in Frederick County Circuit Court. While gaining a great amount of insight and knowledge during his tenure as a law clerk, Chris also developed a fondness for the Frederick area and the members of the local bar. In June, 2013, Chris joined Gordon & Simmons as an associate. Chris brings an enthusiasm for litigation to Gordon & Simmons, and he hopes to develop further as an attorney and benefit from the extensive experience and acumen of his colleagues at the firm.
Chris is involved in charitable work with the community in his free time, and also enjoys running, rugby, and golf.
